In order to import your data to visualize it with DataHero, it must be in the correct format and this video helps detail how you can format your data correctly.
Normalize the data
The first step in visualizing your data with DataHero is ensuring it's formatted correctly. DataHero does not support data that is aggregated or that has been summarized into a higher level. To take advantage of DataHero's full functionality, you will need to normalize the data - that is, format it as raw data - before importing it to DataHero.
Incorrect Format - Pivot Table
Correct Format - Raw Data
Headers in the data
If you import a dataset that has a few rows before the column headers, DataHero may ask you to select the correct row for column headers if it can't figure it automatically. As a note, DataHero will only recognize one row of headers. If there are others, they will be ignored.
This help article details how the data decoder recognizes headers.
If headers are not filled in, DataHero will assign a generic title to it which can be changed during the import process or in the "Your Data" tab after importing it.
Fill in data to make a completed dataset
Any cell under a header that doesn't have data in it will be given the label "No Label" when creating charts with that dataset. These can be filtered out easily by following this post.
Be sure to remove any rows that are not raw data records. For example, rows of descriptive information and grand totals will need to be removed. You can easily sum up totals in DataHero and do not need them to be calculated in the original dataset.
